The Tarboush, a red hat worn by Egypt’s top officials, military officers, clerics, schoolboys, and the elite, was introduced to Egypt during the era of Mohamed Ali Pasha, who came to power in 1805, and played a key role in bringing this headwear to prominence in the country.
