When doing maintenance on the trailer and inspecting the wheel bearings you wanna check the bearing rollers and races for any signs of pitting, spalling or brinelling. If the bearings look good you can just clean em, repack em and adjust em and you're good till next time. In this case I found some wear on the rollers and outer bearing races.
