The goats are living their best lives post hurricane helene! The fences at our rental were knocked down so they’ve been free ranging but also not straying far. They mostly hang out in the yard and watch us clean the property, and then go back into the barn at night. We’re keeping them at our rental until we can build a fence for them at our new place. Unfortunately all deliveries are postponed so we can’t get electric netting, but I did pick up some metal t posts and mesh wire which we’ll instal

Today we welcomed two very special new residents to Sowa Goat Sanctuary! There have been an increasing number of coyotes breaching the fences of neighboring farms in broad daylight, even with people around, which really terrifying. We put electric fencing around the entire sanctuary fence line but have still been so worried about a potential attack, especially with our very vulnerable special needs herd. So we are very excited to have these incredible protectors looking over Sowa’s residents! Ar
