Knocked out Sherman Tank June 1944 Then and Now. Corporal Johnson’s M4 Sherman of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards was knocked out by a Panther from Panzer Lehr during the fighting for the village of Lingèvres on the 14th June 1944. Both Corporal Johnson and Trooper Dagley (the driver) lost their lives in this action. Corporal Clifford Johnson is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery. Trooper Reginald Dagley was 33 and is buried at Jerusalem War Cemetery in Chouain. | WW2 Wayfinder
