It’s amazing what can be accomplished by just working with the body alone in Power Yoga! This sequence starts by strengthening the lower body while stretching the upper body. The lower body stays in an isometric hold while the upper body flows through a side bend, twist and back bend as a way to invigorate the spine. Afterwards it finishes by bringing strength to the upper body with plank ‘shoulder taps’ and a yogi push up. Feel free to finish it up with a vinyasa back to Down Dog and repeat of

It’s incredible to see the popularity of Yin Yoga having exploded the last several years!If you think about it holding long seated poses has been around since the ancient times of Raja Yoga (Royal Yoga) when the yogi would sit for hours in Full Lotus.In the 10th Century there were only 15 poses and 8 of these were seated. But as history and yoga continued to evolve there was a greater movement towards standing poses over seated poses.Both have their benefits but it’s good to see students and yog
