What is the darkest tint you can have legally in NSW? I know it’s 20% VLT for the back windows and 35% for the front, but driving around Sydney I see cars (not just commercial vehicles) cruising around with near black windows. Is there special permits that allow for such tints or are people just going over the legal limit?

2014年5月2日 · Got the window redone for free, didn't have to order more tint and waste my time trying to redo it. Shop around, $200 seems a bit high to pay, some dealerships even do tint for a reasonable price. You're already looking at $30+ for a heat gun, and about 10 ft of tint film which will cost about $30.

Window tint is a secondary offense. Not suppose to pull you over for it. With that said if you’re pulled over for something else they can get you for the tint then. It’s weird because back in the day they would pull you over for just tint (probably fishing for something else).

2020年12月10日 · DPS pulled me over between Tucson and Phoenix. The trooper used some device to measure tint levels. He thought the tint was too dark. It wasn’t. I’ve never had my windows tested for tint levels before and never knew DPS had a device that measured this. This was like 15 ish years ago though.

I don't see how you could ever be blamed, unless the state literally set up a freaking sting to catch you passing cars with illegal window tint (and just think about how ridiculous that sounds).

2014年7月30日 · I live in Maryland and I think the law is 35% here. Cops don't do shit about it here though. Just driving around, I feel as though 40% or more of cars have window tint here, and of those, I would say the majority are darker than the legal 35%. Fuck, I even see plenty of cars that completely tint their front windshield 20% or darker. Fucking idiots.
