Rin is a hexblade warlock, and is chaotic good, serving this evil patron prophesized to usher in a thousand years of darkness, but Rin doesn't get her patron was evil. So I played the character as naive and sort of dumb, doing my best attempt at the cliché "hick" or "country bumpkin" voice.

I consider Acquisitions Inc to be canon in the same way that some of the video games and certain aspects of the novels are: the broad strokes and characters are canon, but any specifics that contradict established lore are not. So yes, at least in my game, the Verdan exist and Acq Inc exists as published in the sourcebook.
