What size is Slate-ish? Slate-ish tiles come in 1.5" strips, that are roughly 12" long. The thickness varies from 1/16" to 3/8". Each square foot of Slate-ish weighs approximately 1.2 lbs. (for comparison, ledger stone weighs 6-10 pounds per sf).

Slate-ish was initially discovered by accident - the way all good ideas come about, it seems. Our work installing Richlite countertops left us with a LOT of scrap material, and a chance encounter with a dropped piece gave us an idea of how to use this scrap.

Custom color with distressing. A note on distressing: Distressing was a part of our production on our Legacy Colors, which ended in 2023. By adding distressing to our Legacy colors, we were essentially abrading away the surface colorant, and exposing the raw material.
