2010年1月16日 · I have nothing nice to say about S&S's Pan motor. After 2000 miles it belched smoke. I sent it back to S&S only for them to say the motor must have had over 10,000 miles on it. Oil pump shot, pistons and bore worn, cam shot etc;. I havent had one problem with the S&S Evo style engines though.-Jason
Timing marks on an S&S Evo? Trying to find Front...
2008年6月8日 · It's an S&S 96" Evo engine. The S&S manual says the Front DTC mark is T:F. That mark is no where to be found on my flywheel. I have an "R." and a "F|" visible through the timing hole (along with the serial#). Just a little past the F| mark, the red led light on the ignition module goes on.

2010年8月13日 · General rule of thumb for newer S&S carbs, Super E up to 100 ci, Super G over 100 ci. If it's a stock 80 ci Evo, then Super E is the way to go. You can adapt an older style such as a B, D, etc., but there isn't really any point on an Evo and the E is a piece of cake to tune.

2011年12月5日 · Damn, thanks for all the info. I have the S&S heads, that came with it, and built them up with new valves, springs etc. Going to run a .600 lift Axtell cam. I also have the Super Stock cam cover. Checked all the piston skirt to oil jet clearances,etc. Really appreciate the info, sounds like you've been down this road a few times.

2007年8月20日 · OK, S&S 101! take new motor and put in james gaskets where you can, on the crank senser hole put the trany plug from a five speed, it has a oring and seals the hole oil tight, and you should only have small oil seeps due to heat and time but not oil all over the place....the teflon gaskets that S&S uses are junk!....I allso replace the auto comp releases with manuels …
