1080 ti in 2023, is it still worth and how much would you pay
Used 3060 and 6600XT/6650XT are trending around $150. Brand new 7600 is low $200 with Starfield. I can't imagine spend anything close to this for 1080 Ti. 1080 Ti uses 100W+ more power, if you are a heavy user the energy cost delta cannot be ignored. No 1080 Ti has any factory warranty left unless it's on a special plan.

Agreed with your first part but both the GTX 1080 and RTX 2060 are not intended for playing at 4K @ ~60fps, you will need at least a 1080 Ti/2080 (being here below ~40-50fps on real-world scenarios to be honest) or the 2080 Ti for holding ~60fps at 4K (and here it depends on the game/engine we consider too).

My 1080 TI is still running 1440p 60fps max graphics almost any AAA games before Elden Ring (haven't played the latest titles titles after ER), as example Monster Hunter World with everything maxed goes 1440p 90fps, or 1080p 120fps (including the infamouts volumetric fog at max thats eats like 40fps without any quality diference compared to low).

The $499 RTX 2070 that everyone wants to buy is NOT any faster than GTX 1080. Watch the youtube review Paul's Hardware did. NVidia took away 2 power connections and went with slightly different chip with less cores. The performance was more than 10% less for the $499 RTX 2070 vs the $599 version. So don't drink the cool aid.

2022年1月9日 · Straight-up, 1080 Ti lacks DLSS and RTX. You'll want DLSS, as that's a performance booster in many current and probably future games. Also, you're going to want RTX support, in case more games like Metro Exodus Enhanced in the future require RTX to boot. Plus, to run RTX properly, you are going to also need to utilize DLSS with it.

2021年8月16日 · At 1080 or 1440 in Red Dead 2, the 360Ti will get double FPS of the 1080. If you just play CSGO, you don't need anything near this powerful, even the 1080 is overkill. GTAV, the 1080 will still get around 100fps at 1080p with settings tweaks.

But a 1080 is still competent enough (Just reduce the settings) and try to save up or wait for a lucky stock for a 3080, or wait for 6800 XT reviews to drop. When the 6800XT hits the market, availability of all cards will increase, and then you will have more choices.

The simple explanation is that RTX 2000 & 3000 cards have physical RT cores dedicated to "performing ray tracing operations with extraordinary efficiency". Additionally, they use Tensor cores for features like DLSS.
