Poole’s Cavern is a family friendly, dog friendly, all weather, accessible experience. Book on to our Self-Guided Poole’s Cavern Walk through and explore our ancient natural limestone cavern, found on the outskirts of the historic Spa town of Buxton in the High Peak of Derbyshire.

Poole's Cavern and Buxton Country Park is found 1/2 mile from Buxton town centre on Green Lane. Follow the brown signs at road junctions on all approaches to Buxton.

How accessible is the cavern? Wheelchair users can access the main chamber of the cave which is 100 metres/300ft long unassisted. There are a total of 28 steps along the remaining cave path, 14 up and 14 down.

The first Saturday of the month at 9:30am our SEN Guided Tour of Poole’s Cavern will run. The tour will last approximately 45 minutes and you will be led through our underground chambers by one of our enthusiastic guides, 1000ft into the hillside.
