2012年1月14日 · 1. With changes in humidity, the walnut is going to want to expand and contract across the grain. In the picture, that means that the distance between point A and point B (see my picture) is going to vary with the seasons. The padauk, because the grain is running the other way is not going to expand and contract as much in that direction.

2016年11月15日 · The planer might seem faster until you get tearout thats 1/32-1/16" deep. That is a crap ton of end grain sanding to get rid of the tearout. Ive never done it. I have a byrd head and still wouldnt do it. Yes, i know the russian cutting board professional does it, but hes russian.

2014年1月3日 · My Jet table saw (with a brand new blade) struggled a bit cutting the long miters. You can see the miters and the saw in the dry fit photo below. I re-read everyone's comments prior to starting last night so I cut the first miter long as test to see how my saw handled it.
