But it only applied 1) where the circuit is dedicated to that purpose AND 2) where the receptacle is not accessible, neither of which is the case here. Regardless, I cannot fathom why the OP would want to skip on a GFCI. –

When the code says something "shall have ground fault circuit interrupter protection for personnel", it does not care where that GFCI protection is provided -- at the outlet via a receptacle-type GFCI, upstream of the outlet using a receptacle or deadfront GFCI device, or via a GFCI branch or feeder breaker.

2022年9月28日 · Weather usually not kind to outdoor GFCI outlets. If on one circuit usually only need one GFCI outlet to protect the whole circuit. With 14 gauge you can only use a 15 amp breaker, you can use two single together, with a handle tie, or a dual breaker, if using 14/3 cable. Will make a MWBC circuit, but they act funny with GFCIs, unless done right.

2018年4月26日 · From this outlet on the LOAD side, I have a #12 3 wire cable running in Schedule 40 conduit underground 150 feet to a pole outside in my yard. Things worked Ok for a while but now the GFCI trips all the time. I unplugged the spot lights from the outside outlet box (protected by code with weatherproof plastic cover box), but the GFCI still trips.
