2016年1月4日 · The books from the "mechwarrior" series, easily IDed by the MW3 logo with red madcat, are more "day in the life" type stories. All of the novels are set pre-Jihad, with Endgame, the last novel, ending about a year before the Jihad kicks off.

2021年3月3日 · Hi, I'm new to Battletech, and so far I love the universe! I've read the primer, beaten Hairbrain Studios Battletech, and finally purchased the core board game. As a fan of 40k and Star Wars, and a huge lore junky; I love diving head first into the thick of it. What would be a good book/series to get into first with Battletech?

2022年3月19日 · There's a Battletech fiction bundle on Humble right now, 30 USD will get you 70 books plus the contents of last year's bundle that they did. All total, it's 129 books, anthologies and Shrapnels. They're all in Epub or Mobi, so they're easy to throw onto a Kindle or use your ebook reader app of choice.

2022年9月20日 · Look for the new style cover art (mostly narrated by Tren Sparks), the old ones are heavily abridged and should be avoided. They're focusing on the newer books though, so if you want foundational books like the Warrior Trilogy or Blood of Kerensky, you'll have to find the ebooks or print-on-demand through Amazon.

Classic BattleTech refers specifically to good old-fashioned record sheets and hex-maps BattleTech directly descended from the original BattleDroids. Granted, Classic BattleTech branding isn't used so much any more. Most of the time, it's just "BattleTech", and you'll just see something on the back that says "For use with Total Warfare" or ...

2021年8月1日 · BattleTech: Alpha Strike: Commander's Edition is the Standard-level rulebook for the system. ROLEPLAYING GAMES. Naturally, BattleTech has been adapted to an RPG format- many times in fact. The currently supported systems are the crunch-heavy BattleTech: A Time of War and the fluff-heavy MechWarrior: Destiny.

The only Battletech novel translated into Japanese is the "Gray Death Legion" trilogy, which is the only way to read it, whether you want to or not. (Incidentally, the Japanese edition of the trilogy was published as a six-volume work, divided into upper and lower volumes.)

2022年7月19日 · Seconded. Start with the Gray Death Legion, and avoid the abridged ones. It will be easy to differentiate the new (full length) from the old (abridged) audiobooks by their cover art. Personally I thought the Dark Age books as a group (Bonfire of Worlds, Blood Will Tell, etc.) were better if you already knew what was going on.

2014年4月6日 · Other books are also equally bad or worse, such as Star Lord, Ideal War, I am Jade Falcon and a couple others. Not really sure why Shrapnel is on the list. It's not a novel, but a collection of short stories. If you still haven't sated your battletech itch after all these novels, then I'd dig into the multitudes of short stories available.
