2009年12月5日 · A bearing buddy has a spring loaded disk that has the grease zerk installed in it. Bearing buddies are not intended to completely fill the hub with grease and besides, that's not even necessary. Proper use of a bearing buddy is to pump grease in until the disk just begins to move outward. That will not pop the seal and will not force out any water.

2015年9月18日 · Then before you install the front (outer bearing), you fill the hub up with as much grease as you can. Then you install the front bearing and washer, nut and cotter pin. Then the Bearing Buddy. Then you use a grease gun and pump grease in until the bearing buddy piston just starts to move outward. That's it.

Too much grease in the bearing buddies can blow out the rear seal defeating the whols purpose. Bearing buddies do not eliminate the need for regular maintenance and inspections.

2013年4月2日 · The best way is having Ez lube, and use this only to flush the grease though the bearings and put the buddy bearing on to add pressure to the system to avoid water coming in. When you need to change the grease, remove the buddy bearing, do not wipe out, use the same type of grease, and run it through the ez lube.

2011年12月21日 · One of my Bearing Buddy grease fittings seems to be screwed up. After I pump grease in, and remove the gun, grease squirts out the fitting. I know Bearing Buddy's are not that expensive, but it is in good shape otherwise and seems like a waste to dump it when I could replace the fitting for about $1.

2009年6月24日 · The whole idea of the Bearing Buddy system is for grease to have a slight positive pressure against the rear seals. If you don't fill the entire cavity and you dunk the hub into the water, the temp drops, a vaccum is created and water can be sucked into the hub.

2009年4月3日 · Re: Grease gun and bearing buddies Any standard grease gun will work.Do not over do it..it will push the seals out of the backs of the hubs. Depending on what type is on your trailer some bearing buddies have a relief hole if you over grease it. Just pump until you see the center of the bearing buddy start to move out.
