A nearly bankrupt west coast loudspeaker company, Lansing Manufacturing Co., provided the needed opportunity. Lansing was purchased for $50,000 cash in 1941. Altec now had its facility to develop a source of supply for theatre equipment. Alvis Ward came West from New York to manage the new Altec Lansing organization.

Altec Madrid 872A. Hi People, The search for a tweeter for my 870B has led me to become familiar with this system. Madrid 872a is identical to the speaker system 870B speaker system. The 420Y are the biflex woofer with a tweeter on a strap across the front of the woofer. The tweeter is a 3" cone paper made by CTS (30685) with a capacitor 6MF.

2013年9月22日 · I'm thinking about buying a pair of Altec Lansing Model 1 loudspeakers. I did the research and they are a acoustic suspension sealed box w/ a 8" woofer, and 2" tweeter in 4" frame. They are pretty compact which interests me. They also only have 84db efficiency.
What do you think of the Altec Lansing Model 19?
2024年9月30日 · The Altec 19 uses professional drivers, the same ones used in the Voice of the Theater series. Klipsch uses more consumer grade drivers. That alone would tip the scale for me toward the Altec. The Altecs are voiced quite differently than Klipsch, and I find their voicing smoother, producing less glare and listening fatigue.
