2010年12月28日 · The .32 French is so like the .32 S&W Long that cases for it can be made by nothing more than turning the rim off and making an extractor groove. The French military has a LOT of combat experience!! In fact, very similar rounds were almost standard military issue throughout Europe up to and including WWII.

2018年10月26日 · The .32 S&W Long cartridge is derived from the .32 S&W, by increasing the overall brass case length, to hold more powder. Since the .32 S&W headspaces on the rim and shares the rim dimensions and case and bullet diameters of the longer .32 S&W Long, .32 S&W cartridges may be fired in arms chambered for these longer cartridges.

2009年10月31日 · My standard load for the 32 S&W Long is the 311008 with 2.8 grains of ZIP. My favorite load previously was 2.8 grains of 231 but substituting ZIP cut the group sizes by approximately 50% in all six test guns. Either of these loads works very well behind the 98 grain rnfp RCBS. Hope this helps. Neil

2024年11月25日 · The .32 S&W Long, and the .32 Colt New Police are the same cartridge. The .32 Long Colt is not interchangeable with either, as it originally used a heeled bullet (like the .22 RF). As such, it's extemely doubtful that your father in law had a S&W Model 31-1 revolver chambered in such a cartidge as .32 Long Colt.

2016年12月22日 · The 26 inch long .32 S&W Long barrel is noticeably quieter than the shorter .32 ACP. After initial testing I rechambered it to .32 H&R Magnum and shot it again. My reasoning was that doing do would enable using HRM brass and factory loads, but wouldn’t significantly hurt the grouping with my .32 S&W Long revolver ammo.

2016年11月14日 · The Hodgdon 2016 reloading annual magazine has some good load data for the .32 S&W Long cartridge and they still list one for the short too. The pressure is under 9,000 CUP for the minimum loads too. With a little over 11,000 CUP for the maximum loads. I would think that using the minimum load data would work for the old break top revolver OK.

2019年7月2日 · It was made and advertised to shoot 32 S&W, 32 S&WL and Colt 32 Long cartridges, thus it was "designed" for such. The Winchester factory 32 S&W factory cartridges, a load that is presumed safe to shoot in 32 S&WL chambered revolvers made for smokeless ammunition, generated 18,900 psi in actual testing.....not guessing.

2020年7月2日 · While it cycles 32 s&w long fine, I doubt it would work well with 32 acp. The Henry big boy steel carbine is a great rifle. Mine comes in at a trim 6 pounds 8 ounces empty, decent 4 1/2 pound trigger, and was reliable out of the box.

2022年8月24日 · The .32 ACP supposedly has a slightly smaller bullet diameter than the .32 S&W Long. This means that there is a small gap between the ACP bullet and the chamber/barrel/rifling of a .32 S&W Long revolver allowing some pressure to blow by the bullet when fired plus the side blast between the cylinder and forcing cone/barrel.

2021年2月24日 · Depending upon what gun you are shooting it in, I'd be inclined to work up starting from 2 grains of 700X, if an older gun chambered for .32 S&W Long or .32 Colt New Police. For a S&W Model 30 or 31, or Ruger the 2.7 grains is a full-charge load.
