Also to all you collectors out there who don't know who Mark Bando is, he is the foremost expert on the 101st Airborne during WWII, and without his research and dedication we wouldn't know half what we know about the 101st during WWII.

2024年10月9日 · The blue dress was made in 1942 but pattern is 1938 and, as prescribed in AR 600 38, the enlisted men could wear the blue dress uniform in 2 ways: 1. blue dress with ribbon with garrison belt and without m1902 breast cords. 2. full dress with full medals, garrison belt and m1902 breast cords.

2014年8月18日 · When the 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION deployed to Europe in for REFORGER '76 I was attending primary school in a Belgian Army Barracks in Germany. Parts of the Division were hosted by my father's unit, the 4TH Belgian Army Cavalry Regiment in Arnsberg, Germany.

2017年1月15日 · If all the paratroopers had been equipped with carbines instead of M-1 rifles, it would have been a lot more difficult for the 101st Airborne to win any battles. Each rifle squad contained a LMG crew, (instead of the B.A.R. found in regular infantry companies) and the PIR squad tactics were built around the LMG laying a base of fire.

2015年6月25日 · Note both officers have subdued insignia on their jungle fatigues, except for the 101st AB Division SSI which is full color. LTC Stevenson also has a 187th Infantry DUI on his left chest pocket flap. Note Sloan's name tapes are parallel to shirt bottom while Stevenson's name tapes are parallel to pockets.

2011年3月12日 · The 101st in Vietnan was proud of their permission to have a full color patch and it was sop to wear them full color. Now there were some in the states worn officially. Guys coming back to Ft. Sill, for instance, who had served in the 101st in Vietnam had to wear the subdued patch on their combat sleeve. Made no sense of course.
