How to screw into the edge of plywood? - LumberJocks …
2008年4月14日 · Using a Kreg softwood/plywood coarse thread self-tapping 1 1/2 inch screw, I fastened together two pieces of 3/4" baltic birch plywood butt jointed at 90 degrees to each other. The side with the head of the screw touching it was predrilled halfway through the plywood because I was simultaneously testing a plug cutter.
Are dowels affective in plywood? - LumberJocks Woodworking …
2020年12月15日 · The plywood hole will soak up a lot of glue and the dowel may swell some. Too much glue will cause more problems than too little. Not all plywood is equal. Use a good grade with as many layers as you can find. 11 ply baltic birch has very few hidden voids. I use 1/4 dowels in plywood.
Safest Way to Connect 1/2" Plywood Joints
2019年12月13日 · I'm building a cabinet and this one section requires me to screw directly into a 1/2" plywood joint. I know that I'm mostly safe pre-drilling a hole that's hopefully straight but was curious what you guys recommend in this scenario to connect a clean 1/2" joint. Tips or Tricks for ripping full sheets of plywood
2017年1月3日 · Get a circular saw if you don't have one and make a panel ripping jig. Trying to rip down full sheets of plywood on the tablesaw without big in and outfeed tables can be dangerous and not very accurate. You can cut slightly oversized if you want and then do the final sizing rip on the tablesaw with a smaller piece that is easier to maneuver.

2025年1月15日 · I have spent money on supposedly good plywood blades before but I have always been disappointed with them. One of the blades I bought from Harvey is their BP80 Plywood & Melamine Blade. This blade cut through 3/4" birch plywood from the BORG like it was nothing and left an edge on the top and bottom of the piece clean with no splintering.

Plywood from big box stores - LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2021年1月5日 · If you want decent plywood find a lumberyard that caters to the cabinet building trade and buy from them. A few years ago I was paying $100 a sheet for 3/4" maple veneer A1 combi-core when I was building out my kitchen.
No-void plywood - LumberJocks Woodworking Forum
2022年7月21日 · The plywood with 1/16" or whatever inner plys should in theory be void free I think because they put patches in the knot areas but delaminations occur randomly and that's luck of the draw. I've had really good luck with baltic birch and don't recall ever encountering a delamination but if you do find one where you cut you can glue and clamp it ...
What wood to use for French Cleat System?
2012年3月20日 · Remember that you are going through 3/4" of plywood and probably another 1/2 - 3/4" of drywall before you hit a stud, so you could be getting as little as 1" of the screw into the stud. I would use 3.5" lag screws, just make sure to countersync them so the heads do not sit proud of the surface of the cleat.
