2021年10月1日 · As for a pot, I figured I'd just go with a Lee setup, since most of my equipment is either Lee Presses or Hornady. But, I've been hearing a lot of bad about the melting pots from Lee. I've read and heard, more than place, that they tend to leak badly. I think I'd prefer a pot that I can bottom pour instead of using a Ladel.

2012年1月9日 · Good thread. I think my next pot will be the RCBS, most people love them but they are pricey. I think the Lee 4-20 I use now will be only for melting down WW because it has started to drip more than usual, even after tearing the pot down for a good cleaning.

2020年4月3日 · Hi all, I am new here and am thinking about taking my reloading to the next level and casting my own boolits. I have been looking at a Lee 4-20 melting pot but I am reconsidering just going with a ladle pour. My casting will be for .357, .44mag, .454casull and 500 linebaugh.

2016年11月10日 · The majority of it dates back into the '50's. The Saeco pot was his newest piece of casting equipment. I'm going to try and find out the age of it by the serial number. All of his casting equipment still sits in their original boxes. I won't be using any of that stuff, but I would like to hear what you guys think about the melting pot pictured.

2012年11月27日 · PID controller on the lead pot is Cadillac-ing the craft. Only way to go as far as I'm concerned. BTW a simple on/off PID works just fine if it has fuzzy logic that learns your pot and predicts cycle time. Temperatures stay pretty constant even with changing alloy levels. The fuzzy logic PIDs and type "K" thermocouple can be bought under $50.00.

2011年4月20日 · I'm glad to report that the old pot is up and melting just fine. Turned out to be nothing more than a wire between the thermostat and the heating element had burnt out. It was simple to just rob a few inches off of an old extention cord, strip the insulation and wrap a couple of strands together for more current carrying capacity.

2011年4月18日 · I'm looking at a Lyman #61 melting pot to use instead of dipping. I'm also thinking about this so I don't smelt in the same pot I"ll be casting out of. Anyone have one that could give me pro's and con's about it--yes--it's used but in very good shape.
