2009年3月22日 · This is chart I came across and it asks an interesting question. My guess is that 18 year olds and 44 year olds increased since people were lying to get enlisted. Am I right? Also if you were to say you were 44 would they have to retire you when you turned 45? During the war you had to be at least 18 years old to join the military.

2017年5月25日 · Hi, Just acquired a late Bridesburg contract musket Model 1863. The lock is 63 dated while everything else is later - 1864 barrel, spring bands. I guess at some point an earlier lock was installed in a late-produced musket 'body.' Quite normal I guess for late-war stage production or repair...

2011年6月9日 · Who would have ever thought that Clint Eastwood was a member of the SCV? Although he is California born, I guess one of his ancestors was Southern born and in the Confederate army. Anyone have any idea who Clint's Confederate ancestor was? Since I learned this, I have watched "The Outlaw Josie Wales" again and really enjoyed his performance.

Unfortunately, my guess would be that you have a musket in which the barrel has been replaced by a barrel from a NJ contract Model 61 rifle musket, most likely a Savage or Trenton make or, conversely, a NJ gun in which the lockplate was swapped for a Muir.
