Witcher 1: Something something internal politics of Temeria. At the end of the game Geralt foils an assassination attempt on King Foltest of Temeria Witcher 2 King Demavend of Aedirn and Foltest of Temeria is assassinated. In the end the Mages are blamed, while it was in reality Nilfgaard who had plotted the whole thing.

While Witcher 1 does have a very good story, it's visuals and gameplay doesn't hold up very well. If you find yourself not enjoying the game because of them, just watch a story recap on YouTube and start with Witcher 2. Witcher 2 has a few flaws in it's combat system but overall it holds up quite well to current standards.

2014年6月20日 · All I can say is the following. I wanted to play Witcher 2 but I forced myself to play the first (on easy just for the story). And I'm glad I did because looking back after playing the two games, the first definitely has the better story and atmosphere. The second one just feels like a minor side story, almost like a prologue for the witcher 3.
