2020年8月26日 · The volume and mute keys on my keyboard are not working. However, I know it's not the keys themselves that are broken, because the F1-F3 functions work perfectly fine. The interesting thing is that they work when I have the command prompt running as an administrator and I'm on that window.

2021年7月31日 · After I got the windows 11 update all of function keys won't change my volume, brightness or backlighting. I tried pushing fn at the same time but it had no effect. All of the buttons still work as f1-f12 just not as their primary purpose.

If you wish to swap that behavior around, take a look at your Esc key. If you see an icon indicating "F Lock" or "Fn Lock", then press Fn+Esc, and the default behaviors of your F keys will be reversed.
