2010年4月6日 · Grandarf, you determine the woofer to tweeter distance by juggling the xover needs, and baffle edge issues. Center to Center distance from the xover, and placement from the baffle. You can offset all the drivers if you want. Some just seem to throw the speakers on there in a pleasing way, and sort the rest out with EQ. Whatever floats your boat.

Pull the diaphram off and sniff it--sniff it like a cocaine cowboy and if it smells burnt--it is damaged. If it don't smell burned, the coil is not charred black and it ohms out fine--you have another problem.

2005年2月5日 · The best non-ribbon I am aware of is the Scan-Speak R-29 ring radiator with phase plug. Don't confuse it with look-alike tweeters from Scan- Speak that cost one-fourth as much. The R-29 has a pointed phase plug; not a rounded one like the less costly Scan tweeters. The driver has response to 60 kHz and excellent response to 40 kHz.
