Here is the relevant text for the sunsword where it says it requires attunement. Compare to the quintessential sentient weapon Blackrazor presented in the DMG which requires attunement by a non-lawful alignment.

I would casually mention things like, “you feel great sorrow coursing from the sword” or “as you strike, you feel a gut wrenching anger emanate from the dazzling weapon.” Also, as an extra side effect, I would have the hue of the weapon alter slightly dependent upon the emotion.

The sun sword is a physical hilt that creates a blade of light, but mechanically there’s no reason it has to be a sword. Figure out which player would use it and turn it into the weapon type they prefer. When a PC touches it, light could extend from it in whatever direction it needs to make the shape of their favored weapon.

2014年4月23日 · The main selling point of the Sun Sword is its A/A scaling. Unfortunately, traditional scaling is vastly outclassed by infusion/buff combos in Dark Souls 2. Infusion/buff combos not only nerf weapon scaling, but are most effective with high base damage. For this reason the Sun Sword ends up as something of a shit-tier weapon.

2022年1月9日 · The sun blade does not dispel magical darkness (unlike the Daylight spell, for example). As such, the sun blade would illuminate the Darkness area as if it were mundane darkness, but it would not dispel it.
