Why over 200 smurf attack packets from Comcast IP ... - Netgear
2022年10月30日 · For about a two weeks, I've been getting 100's of smurf attack packets on my Netgear R7000P NightHawk. The ip's seem to be comcast's. On Oct. 29, 2022 there seems to be over 200. Is there a setting I can change to prevent this, or any other suggestion? Ed Roberts

Yes, "fraggle" attack is similar to "smurf" attack in terms of the technique but uses difference protocol. Fraggle also uses directed broadcasts in the same technique as smurf, sending UDP echo requests instead of ICMP echo requests as in the Smurf. Fraggle usually achieves a smaller amplification factor than smurf, and is much less popular.
