What is different between Seal Weld and Fillet weld
2013年4月6日 · Hi everyone, I am not clear definition Seam weld. AWS A3.0 SEAM WELD "“Any weld designed primarily to provide a specific degree of tightness against leakage". It mean that, Fillet weld can be Seam weld. If any, Can you comparision between Fillet weld and Seam Weld.

2002年1月29日 · Seal welding frowned upon? its allowed under the rules of the Code - 311.2.6. If youre using seal weld to add strenght to the joint then youre using it for the wrong reason. but if the intention is to provide tightness againts leakage - sure its allowed. most especially if your trying to mitigate leak of hazardous material.

The weld is only there to seal the threads and prevent leakage. And I fully concur with your "internal standard".

2023年10月25日 · Questions: can i do a seal weld between 904L N08904(tube) and 316L(tubesheet) with gtaw autogenous welding? i read that 904l could lose a little of corrosion resistance, but in this case, as only seal weld the tube expansion is in charge to resist forces. Anyone had experience with this kind of welding? any suggestions? Thanks L.

2010年3月10日 · The weld they specified was a fillet weld all around the cap with the notation "seal typ." in the tail of the weld symbols. The shop used .030 hard wire and welded the caps all around with a standard "fillet" weld. Its hard to really call it a fillet weld because the conditions of the weld don't really allow for a fillet.

For example Ti condenser tubes are too soft to generate enough joint strength by just rolling, so an autogenous TIG seal weld is added. They do this to millions of tubes with 0.020" - 0.035" (0.5mm-0.9mm) wall thickness.

2008年1月27日 · Hi, Like to know the reason a plug has to be seal-welded to the tube of a heat exchanger. It just so happens in the plant I am working, when a Turnaround take place, all heat exchangers with tube seal-welded to tubesheet has to have the plugs seal-welded to the tubes as well. Thank you.
