2021年7月12日 · Sights on recurve bows used to be VERY common in the 50's through the 70's before compounds took over. Most old garage sale recurves from that era have holes drilled in the risers to accept sights. I encourage new recurve shooters to try a sight so they can eliminate the "aiming" part of the shot and focus on their consistency.

This includes the ingenious sights made to be screwed onto the backs of the bows, and the sights made by Bear to fit into the riser face of the 1960s Bears. 2013年4月10日 · I wouldn't recommend drilling the bow now at this age, both because of the uncertain strength of the bow after 40 years of aging, and also because of the value and collectibility of your old bow. Back in the day, when slotted sights were all the rage you could attach these sights to the side of the riser with two sided tape.

I've seen guys with pin sights and d-loops shooting via mechanical releases on their recurve bows and they couldn't be happier. One of my friends is a national level Olympic archery competitor. I'm personally a lever-bow weirdo.

2021年12月7日 · I’m pretty new archery, but just got a recurve bow. I would one day like to hunt with a recurve, but I would like some kind of sighting system or aid, atleast for the foreseeable future. Does anyone here use the SRF sights (or homemade equivalents) for hunting or have enough experience with them to provide a recommendation? Thanks.

2022年1月14日 · When I started back I had good luck with the SRF sight, different from the normal pin sight but it’s made for recurve, it will shrink your groups quickly. But unless you get some much lighter limbs to start with you won’t get to first base. I started with a Samick Sage and 30# limbs, limbs can be had for cheap.

2024年10月7日 · When I started shooting recurve again after 15 years off, I had an ACCRA 300-it worked ok but it would move on you sometimes. I then got the SureLock I personally shot the Sure Locs for years-I loved the ability to change apertures quickly -currently I am using both AXCELS and the Ultimas, The Ultimas have periodic shortages.

2007年4月17日 · Having sights will at least take that variable out of the equation.Look at all the old Bear's,Pearson's,etc--alot of those old bows were drilled for sights.Nothing wrong or "un-traditional" about a sighted recurve(or having a rest,either)
