It has a gentle sloping beach and is easy to wade with good visibility through a few inches of water. Pounding and using a shovel is very effective here. Long Beach, WA is another such beach but the sand is different and a clam gun works better there.

I made my pumps out of 2 inch aluminum irrigation pipe with stainless steel rods, a piece of galvanized water pipe for a handle, and of courrse the solid rubber ball for a plunger.

2014年1月11日 · First time i made some I used the cotterpin approach, but found my line would snag around the exposed ends on the side of the pipe too often. Now, I just pound a galvanized fence staple into the side of the pipe then pour the lead, add another staple to the top of the lead for connecting my swivel to. Works great and I have never had one pullout.

Prawns work well as described, cut into small bait size, cured in your favorite salmon cure, I would not do borax as you're not adding any of the bite enhancers that store bought cures include. You can add sand shrimp oil to the prawns once on the river though and that works.

Going to try and plunk spinners next or casting some hoochie or weighted spinners. These salmon are driving me crazy lol :meme:

2010年4月3日 · Some clams spit out the sand slower. Purple varnish clams are really slow and we had to leave them longer than 24 hours in the salt water to get all the sand out. I don't know cockles but would guess it would not take longer than a day, but I don't know any clam that can clean out in 20 minutes. Good job getting some clams!
