If i install the planks "wet" and allow them to dry then I will not be able to prime and paint the end grain or the top edge of the plank unless I removed them but ...

You can use it anywhere metal makes contact with the ACQ lumber like joist hangers, corner brackets, post holders etc, etc. It's recommended to always make a barrier between metal and ACQ and to use stainless steel fasteners.

That was probably 4 years ago and it still looks good. Might've been overkill, but the customer was a nightmare so any callbacks would've been twice as bad.
