When photos are transferred from an iPhone/iPad to a Windows computer, the photos are automatically converted to JPG, so you can ask the sender to do that and then email you the JPG version.

The Photo Viewer cannot display the pictures and the icon in windows explorer does not display a thumbnail. Can anyone help? I don't want software that has adds popping up. Thanks.

2021年1月6日 · This is what i did to open HEIC files in Windows10. Step 1: Go to Microsoft APP Store and load HEIF Image Extension. Step 2: Go to Microsoft APP Store and load HEVC Video Extension. In the description of HEIF Image Extension it tells you that you must have both extensions to visualize HEIC files in Microsoft Photos.

With the HEIC file type (which I would prefer to use) I cannot add "tags", "subject", or "author" ... so, my whole organization scheme fails. I cannot find any way to add these descriptions to the HEIC metadata.
