2024年3月22日 · Nether fortresses and nether wart are extremely rare. It's hard to navigate and everything wants to kill you which would be fine except with lava basically being an instant kill since you can't get out of it and you need nether resources to brew fire resistance potions. God, I hate the nether so much.

it really depends. nether generation is different from the overworld and can be thought of as caves 2.0 in a way. maybe you just have to dig up to get out. maybe the netherrack goes all the way to 128 to the bedrock ceiling because you happen to be in a chunk of solid netherrack and have to dig outwards. but in general go above around y 33 because thats where the lava sea stops …

As for Nether fortresses, they seem to have a habit of embedding themselves in the ground. I covered at least a 600x600 area before finding just a glimpse of nether brick exposed in the side of a cliff. There were probably Nether structures closer to me, but impossible to find.
