If Apple decides, for instance to make having ProRes Encode/Decode engines a requirement for the operating system due to a fundamental feature, then you might see M1 Macs dropped, while M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2, M2 Pro, M2 Max, and newer keep support.

2020年11月19日 · I've got an M1 MacBook Air and the LG Ultrafine 5K 27MD5KA (1st Gen) running 11.0.1 but only displaying as 4k. Multiple reboots and port switches but can't get it to recognise 5k. Also the LG Screen Manager doesn't recognise the monitor.

2022年2月6日 · In fact, if I am remembering correctly, there was a similar experiment done by Linus on the m1 macbook air where I think he applied new thermal pads or something for better contact with the heatsink and the chassis and pretty much closed the gap between the m1 air and the m1 macbook pro.

2021年1月16日 · Our Macbook Air M1 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD arrived just yesterday evening. I updated it to Big Sur 11.1 and then proceeded to restore from a TimeMachine backup of our mac Mini M1 running Big Sur 11.1. It was a fresh TimeMachine on an USB-C SSD.

2011年5月3日 · The 30W charger from the MacBook Air definitely doesn't have enough power to supply both USB-C and USB-A ports on my Caldigit SOHO dock. My M1 MacBook Air goes to sleep when using clamshell mode if I plug in an ethernet adapter and then a thumb drive. I guess if the charge falls off, the power circuit thinks the MBA isn't plugged in to the charger.

2011年6月15日 · The MacBook should support to up to 40Gbps speed (both thunderbolt 4 tech and USB4) There were some compatibility issues with the M1 with some of the external SSDs (mostly with it not connecting in full 10gbps link speed but only 5gbps.)

2009年6月27日 · Totally agree for Wired LAN for desktops; however for a laptop most these days can do fairly well sustained > 70-75MiB/s each way, I am wondering if anyone on this forum has tested the performance of their M1 using iperf (via Wi-Fi) like dpetrov did in the above above (2019 MacBook Pro 16") to see if it has the same issue.
