2017年1月22日 · The LS7 lifters are forgiving. Some of the shorter travel lifters are not. When you are trying to get preload very precise on short travel lifters, it's not unusual to see some variation between valves. THat .010-.015 variation won't mean anything on a LS7 lifter, but on a johnson short travel with only 0.058" total travel, it's a much bigger deal.

2024年11月13日 · Im thinking about using the ls7 lifters I have now just to get the engine at least running. The lifters are in pretty good shape rollers are smooth and rotate easily. And the valve lifter guides im going to reuse them they are GM. The lifters fit tightly in each one and dont twist.

2025年1月5日 · It’s a lot of mock up work that’s tedious but the payout is a quiet valvetrain that’s stable and helps you make power. You can throw a Hail Mary pass at as set of LS7 lifters and it will stick 9 times out of 10…you cannot do that with these lifters. You don’t have to cut the intake valves, as long as your wipe pattern looks good.

2024年12月22日 · I run a cathedral port top end on my ls3 block and use the ws6store max effort rockers on it. Been fine for 5 years now. Procharger at 20 psi peak boost, .621 lift, and shifting at 7200 rpm. Lifters are just ls7, springs are btr .660, and pushrods are summit HDR 11/32 .120 wall.

The Johnson lifters are also very good, you pay more but you don't have to worry about a seized wheel shredding the cam and engine rebuild. Stock 64cc heads with .045 head gaskets, used 7.4 push rods, lots of ticking but in particular when I wind it up and then come back down to between 1500 and 2000rpm, I have what sounds like to me, a lifter that is not pumping back up.
