I did a similar treatment on my forehead: 3 months of 0.025% tret + 4% hydroquinone. 90% of it went away after the treatment. I recently went on holiday in a hot climate and although I was very disciplined about wearing SPF and a hat, some of my melasma reappeared.

Hi, I'm using Retin A and hydroquinone for my acne. I was told to stop using hydroquinone after 6 months because it will stop working or cause darkening of skin Do I have to stop using it. Because I was thinking that if the Retin A is renewing skin cells, then the hydroquinone shouldn't have any reverse effects. Is this true?

My skin was v. dehydrated with hyperpigmentation and melasma. After a couple of months of hydroquinone, Dermatica will start sending me Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%.

2017年10月4日 · You do not have to use hydroquinone before a laser procedure to get good results. However it really depends on your skin type. If you are more darkly pigmented, have Asian skin or have melasma, your surgeon may certainly want you on a skin lightener to suppress the melanocytes from activating and causing hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin).

2022年9月18日 · Make sure to use sunscreen. Hydroquinone bleaches skin and with that, removes some of the skin’s natural protection against sunlight and increases sensitivity. Not using sunscreen will actually make spots darker. I’m on hydroquinone too for dermatillomania scars. You have to be consistent not just with use but with keeping that sunscreen on.
