Put the bait in the back of the trap where the raccoon can't get it by reaching in from the side. Tie the trap down so that the raccoon can't overturn it. 2021年10月2日 · I had no luck trapping my raccoon pests with a live trap. I have trail cam video of them sniffing the trap and walking around it several times. I just bought the Duke dog proof traps and bam, I caught 3 raccoons and it's only been a week. I wish I had just bought the Duke traps first. They work much better and they are a lot cheaper.

That being said, I use the same trap you do in areas where domestic animals are a problem. They do require some work at times on the trigger. I have never had one escape from a trap though.
