2016年6月8日 · I already have a plan, using a harbor freight air compressor pump. The pump manual says it requires a 5 hp motor. Here's where the questions come in. I know a "real" 5hp motor should be pulling around 24 amps. But, most of the motors being sold as 5hp actually come out to be about 3.5 with a max load of 5hp. those motors are considerably cheaper.

2024年6月6日 · No, they work with “universal” single phase motors. VFD’s are used with 3 phase for speed control. I’d be tempted to try one since if it works you would be done with no hassle. I use a simple dimmer switch on my tool cutter/grinder and it works well. If you need to change motors look into sewing machine servo motors.
