2019年5月19日 · We have a local lake similar to yours but only 6 acres filled with bass, panfish, crappie, yellow perch, pickerel, bullheads, eels, common carp, different kinds of turtles and grass carp. It has had blues and flatheads at times thamt I put in 10 years ago but I think the blues have all been caught from multiple reports I've heard.

2009年3月29日 · The white amur or grass carp is a prized fish in China and asia where it is native. I've had it before and it taste better than ANY catfish in the world. Do not associate them with the common carp or goldfish. The meat texture is different. Here, they are only used for controlling vegetation. Don't knock it until you try it.

2018年7月24日 · I think These carp are similar if not the very same as those stocked in ponds for vegetation control. The pond variety may be sterile, idk. As far as fishing for them, I've caught several grass carp on small topwater poppers and small crappie jigs fishing for other species. Grass carp will strike lures and put up a tremendous fight.

2005年11月18日 · We had good luck with a recipe I gave Jim (catfish fever) a while back. We had one urban lake in Phoenix and grass carp was all that it contained (no common carp). My son caught a 25 pounder on that recipe. I think I posted it in another thread, if you can't find it, e-mail or pm me and I will give it to you if you want.

2010年6月1日 · I use to carp fish as a young man when I grew up in upstate ny. I used mono at the time. prob 10 to twenty pounds caught many big ones too. They put up a great fight. With lighter line you just need to play the fish and drag a lil better. Here in Cnt FL I haven't seen too many carp. In the local pond down the street I think I saw some grass carp.
