After the Army approved the M14 production rifle and bayonet, leftover test bayonets (made to M6 specs) were marked and put into distribution for issue with M14 rifles. What the AN M6 marking may signify is simply that the bayonet is a M6 under the AN (Army Nomenclature) System.

In so doing they added a Leatherwood scope and modified the receiver so it fired in semi auto only. These guns are very scarce.

What you are likely after is a wartime carbine with all the post war rebuild updates like a potbelly stock, adjustable rear sight, TIII barrel band with bayonet lug, round bolt, flip safety, late magazine catch and a nylon sling.

These parts were the basis of the Springfield Armory, Inc. BM59 variations. These were built using primarily genuine Beretta parts at the SA, Inc. factory in the USA.
