2011年4月10日 · There are no HDPE fittings that I came across, so I’d like to use PVC fittings if I can. Is there a glue that will glue/weld the two dissimilar materials? Or this being a system where water pressure is negligible, could just press fit the fittings together and then perhaps drive a few self tapping screws to hold the fitting to the pipe.

2003年11月20日 · Heat welding: Hot air blowing out to pre-warm the pieces to be joined and, essentially, a hot glue gun feeding filler rod. Also, we used a killer PVC glue. Really thick (more than Heinz 57, almost like peanut butter). Took 24 hours to set/cure but was as strong as the base material when cured.

Replies. BillBrennen |Mar 31, 2007 09:05pm| #1. Danno, Milk jugs are PE, or polyethylene, which is nearly impossible to glue to. PET (aka PETE) is the clear stuff of soda bottles. Goop brand adhesive (comes in squeeze tubes about 5 oz.) will stick to PE. Thermal welding also works.

2005年10月14日 · Spray the poly and spray the block. this will give the more "permanant" adhesive time to set up. used cheapest drywall adhesive for this 38 years ago and it is still holding. If you can't find acoustical caulk, (or it's too expensive--I haven't even looked) butyl caulk may work (if you can find it).

In fact, no one EVER puts a nail or screw in the field on wall applications unless the length exceeds the normal 16' board length. The wall finishes quite nicely if you don't have any nails to fill.
