Riverside Machine shop (Uncle Al's) has a nice press at a reasonable price. If budget is an issue you can build a hydraulic mini forging press for under $500 if you have an air compressor.

They will lay flat against the angle on each side with a piece of 8"x7-15/16"x1.25" welded to the 1x2 guide rail bars. Two of those will be bolted through the middle slide plate.

2020年2月3日 · The best hydraulic system I have ever seen for a limited-power forging press is the Anyang design, which uses a swash-plate pump with variable displacement. At low pressure, the pump is at full stroke and the ram moves fast. As the resistance increases, the pump stroke decreases, the ram speed decreases and the pressure developed increases.

2019年11月5日 · There is a feedback loop in the circuit, that adjusts the displacement of the pump. This makes it more like an auto transmission, rather than a 2 speed with a massive gap in the gears. Try and have a look at one, they act like presses with 3x the horsepower under a lot of forging conditions!

2011年7月31日 · The ones in the picture below. The dies are 4 inches long and my press is set at 27 &1/2 tons. The 4 inches of surface area, coupled with thin steel (like on a knife blade!) hardly moves any metal at all before bogging down. I have been considering cutting some of the die off in an attempt to get the steel to move.
