2008年2月13日 · Based on the Manual, for what it's worth, it says when welding with flux-cord wire, it's available that connect "+" and "-" in an opposite way, that's the wire feed motor with "-" and the connecting cable with "+". So the logical assumption is they are saying with flux cored reverse polarity. I bought "Flux Core" wire - 5kg roll to use.

2011年2月11日 · I had problems using 0.9mm tips with 0.9mm flux cored wire. Constant sticking, even with new tips. This was on a Clarke hobby welder. Soon as I started using 1.0mm tips with 0.9mm flux core wire the problems vanished, and haven't returned. Like everything else, it's horses for courses, and what works best for you and your kit is what is important.

2008年5月22日 · Yes. The flux core nozzles are easier to see around, and they protect your gas nozzles from all the flux from flux core wire. I use them on my HH140 and like them. I got mine from Cyberweld. I also use nozzle dip when I use flux core and it keeps everything much cleaner, since you can just wipe it off and stick the nozzle in the can again.

2004年12月8日 · I don't think the flux core would be good idea to use with the 4130. If at all possible it should be TIG welded but if you have the capability to MIG weld it than you should do that. Use an Er80-s6 wire and 75/25 gas. The flux core dose not have the tensile strenght or the mechanical properties tho make structuraly sound weld on 4130 steel.

So - my question is, in the photos below I think I've got too much penetration as the weld spots look rather wide and flat (about 4mm wide), and there are blobs on the back.

Does the amount correspond to volts, travel speed, etc.? Would you say that you generally chip off less slag with FCAW than stick welding with 6011 or 6013?

2012年5月16日 · You are incorrectly informed; the smallest diameter flux-cored wire you can get is 0.8mm. The best (probably) of the 0.8mm flux-core wire is made by Lincoln, called Innershield NR-211-MP, at .030", or 0.79mm.
