No they didn't, but there's a grain of truth there, as there often is with propaganda. The axe being ground is the attempt to insinuate that Mussolini was a socialist or that socialists are fascists - you'll know from reading the history that Hitler, Franco, Musslolini, and the others were opposed by the socialists and abetted by conservatives at every stage in their rise to power.

It's been suggested that fascist movements of post-WW1 Europe emerged in reaction to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and against worker sympathies to similar internationalist socialist movements thru-out the rest of Europe. In particular, civil war in Spain broke out before WW2 even started; it was a struggle between socialists and fascists.

2024年8月30日 · Briefly reviewing the Wikipedia entry on Mosley, it appears that he formed a political party - which is explicitly not treason. I see no efforts to overthrow the UK government, but rather attempts to work within the structure of democratic government to chart a more fascist course - which he presumably felt was in the best interests of the country.
