There are also light bars and headphones so there may be another option other than her being so close. Definitely share your concern about feeling trapped with her. You need to feel safe to be able to do EMDR.

2014年1月28日 · EMDR is really really tricky with dissociation and for me, it made the dissociation much worse. It often had huge flooding after the EMDR and then would dissociate much like you described. I found the EMDR was ok for less complex trauma events and for installing safe place, but wasn't the right therapy for me in the long run.

2018年10月12日 · For me, the EMDR uses headphones and "tappers" that I hold in my hands. That makes it easy to move from eyes close to eyes open (and if I'm crying the tears don't get in the way of seeing, I guess!). Initially, my young parts were afraid of the EMDR apparatus, and we spent time learning to trust just the headphones & tappers.
