MELBOURNE, Fla. – Oct. 3, 2023 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) was awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to evolve the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye cockpit and computing architecture with Delta System Software Configuration 6 (DSSC 6) through 2028.

Another characte­ris­tic of the Hawkeye is the cockpit area being higher than the rest of the fuselage, so it pops out a bit. Behind the cockpit there is a large air intake on top of the fuselage, probably for cooling the systems on board.
