2017年3月21日 · Continuing to look at Death Note through the lens of a tragedy, if one has seen enough of these stories, they should realize from early on that Death Note can only end in Light's death. Light doesn't have trouble communicating outside of L. In fact, he can be very (superficially) charming. Light yagami's over-analytical take of every social situation he finds himself in, is him being paranoid and careful. It's hard as humans to not show that we're guilty of something, whether we regret it or not.

Either Near used the Death Note to control Mikami and ensure he didn't check it for flaws, report killing Takada, kill anyone on the day of the meeting or any other possible precaution or Near did not. In the anime, Light is able to escape the warehouse, and runs along docks while slowly lying down on the stairs, possible looks of regret in his eyes as he dies from Ryuk writing his name while looking off into the sunset. In the credits, L's spirit is standing over him.
