2009年10月23日 · I am in the process of planning out the construction of a large set of bookcases. The back panels of each case needs to be set into a 1/4 inch rabbit that will be cut into the sides and top panels of the bookcase. Does anyone have an opinion on the best method for cutting this 1/4 inch rabbit. The router or a dado blade on the table saw. Thanks.

The bushing in the router can be any size that is shorter than the fixture board is thick. The fixture has one side fixed square to one of the rails.

2020年4月22日 · Hey, Pa; welcome! What have you in the way of routers and bits? How large a rabbet/dado/ or channel do you need? 3/8" deep x 3/4" wide x the full length of the gables sound right? For rabbets on the sides or ends i use an edge guide. This video is for dadoes but the technique is exactly the same but at the panel edge instead of in the field.

2014年12月13日 · 2 wing slotters (of the same diameter) about as efficient as a 1/4 thick rabbet bit with the same function. 3 & 4 wing slotters are like saw blades. Note that slotters get big, rabbeters are ~1"D or smaller. Slotters can get get >2"D & as such are as very efficient but with risk. As a rule, keep your cutters as small as possible.

2008年12月16日 · That's a nice bit set you've chosen, but if you are trying to save money I would scrap the dado bit set. You can do anything with the straight bits you have chosen that the dado set can do. I would be tempted to get a 1\2" straight bit just to keep things simple. With a T-square you could make all you dadoes and rabits.
