DSA’s primary political leadership is the National Political Committee (NPC), a sixteen-person body which functions as the board of directors of DSA and is elected every two years by the delegates to DSA’s National Convention.

Delegates will vote by preferential ballot at the 2025 DSA Convention. The NPC and National Co-chair elections will be conducted through Scottish Single Transferable Vote as defined here. The DSA Constitution requires that no more than eight (8) NPC members shall be cisgender men, and that at least five (5) seats be reserved for people of color.
