Noticed a number of posts speaking to this so I thought I would post my solution for getting my old Harmony 880 remote to work with my Contour 2 box. Set up device under Cox Communications and model as Contour 2. You don’t need to set up the device, just use it as is in an activity. Controls everything perfectly.

Contour 1 is probably more user-friendly for recording and playback than Contour 2 and might be a better fit if you don't need or want a voice remote or apps. I would also suggest Record 6 DVR is worth the extra cost because it eliminates a lot of recording conflicts. And, I would avoid cloud recording (based upon forum user comments).

Go to your Contour Audio settings and change it from DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 to STEREO. Problem should be resolved. For some reason, the Contour 2 boxes default to Dolby 5.1 which causes low volume.

One last question: When in IR-only mode, does the Contour (2) XR11 remote transmit the IR signal to the XiD-P client boxes (or to the 'Master' Cisco 9865HDC box) in the older, low-frequency range (like the standard mini-boxes), or in the newer, high-frequency range?
Why does my contour 2 box reboot 5 to10 times a day?
Since installing the contour 2 DVR, it has been rebooting several times a day. Last night it rebooted so often I turned it off. Today, it has rebooted once already. Please explain and help me get this resolved. Thanks in advance.
Has the Contour 2 ever become compatible with Alexa?
I was using the old Scientific Atlanta cable box and everything worked beautifully. It was set up for Alexa to be able to turn the cable box and TV on and off, to change the channel, and to change the volume. I was forced to "upgrade" to the Contour 2 box. Now, nothing works.
Contour 1 more versatile then Contour 2- can't go back.
2024年4月14日 · Contour 1 DVR box was much much more user friendly than contour 2. You could choose a channel, leave it on for a minute, go to another channel, do the same, and both would allow rewind to go back an hour. Now, you can only go back as far as the channel was chosen, just a few moments or even seconds.
