It has the chemical formula CuFeS 2 and crystallizes in the tetragonal system. It has a brassy to golden yellow color and a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
Chalcopyrite: Meanings, Properties and Powers
2019年5月2日 · Chalcopyrite is also known as Peacock Ore because of its lovely iridescent green, blue, pink, purple, and gold colors that resemble the feathers of a peacock. The colors of Chalcopyrite come from the oxidation of copper and iron in the crystal. It’s a common mineral that can be found in most sulfide deposits.
Chalcopyrite: Mineral Uses and Properties - Geology.com
Chalcopyrite is a brass-yellow mineral with a chemical composition of CuFeS 2. It occurs in most sulfide mineral deposits throughout the world and has been the most important ore of copper for thousands of years. The surface of chalcopyrite loses its metallic luster and brass-yellow color upon weathering.
